Jackson Otieno

Jackson is a program manager at Co-Impact based out of Nairobi, Kenya. He supports Co-Impact’s sourcing and vetting of new grants in Africa.

Prior to joining Co-Impact, Jackson served with UHAI EASHRI – an indigenous activist fund advancing human rights and social justice across East Africa – as Program Officer. In this role, he led participatory grant-making processes that supported community-led organizing in Eastern Africa, particularly within the fields of health, rights, and social inclusion.

Previously, Jackson worked with a national human rights coalition in Kenya, where as Program Officer he managed advocacy initiatives related to legal reform, civic education, community security, and public awareness campaigns.

He has also served with Hivos East Africa as a Junior Program Officer, supporting the management and implementation of the rights and citizenship programme. This included work on freedom and accountability, women’s empowerment, sexual and reproductive rights, and diversity.

Jackson brings years of hands-on experience supporting grassroots movements and organizations advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights, equality, and social justice.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the Institute of Anthropology, Gender and African Studies at the University of Nairobi.
